Nokiamob is 12 years old!
|Happy birthday to Nokiamob, a 12-year-old blog. However, while I was trying to write a birthday post, the servers experienced an attack which took the page down for the whole day. The attacks started a month ago, and whoever is behind them still isn’t tired of it, but neither are we, as you can see. I can only say, bring it on.
Anyway, we are alive and kicking like a 12-year-old, or even older, Nokia device.
Over the years, Nokiamob has been a hub for Nokia enthusiasts, fostering discussions about Nokia phones, various other gadgets, and the brand’s evolution. The community’s passion for Nokia phones, known for their longevity and reliability, is evident in the shared experiences of users who still cherish and use their older Nokia devices. This blog wouldn’t be alive without the dear people who still use those devices, I would dare to say, religiously. You are the real backbone of a once-great brand, and nowadays, a distant memory.
Recently, there have been intriguing developments with the transition from Nokia Mobile to HMD, or Human Mobile Devices. The rebranding signifies a new chapter for the company, with a more aggressive design approach reminiscent of the iconic Lumia color palette from 12 years ago. The potential return of polycarbonate materials and a focus on design elements from past Lumia devices hint at an exciting future for HMD.
Moreover, the anticipation surrounding HMD’s upcoming phone launch adds to the excitement within the Nokia community. The prospect of a new device paying homage to the old Lumias will surely captivate Nokia fans and enthusiasts.
As Nokiamob continues to provide insights and updates on these developments, the community eagerly awaits the unveiling of new devices and the continuation of Nokia’s legacy in the mobile industry.
But things are changing. As you might have seen, the Nokia community is officially being turned into an HMD community. Now, that is moving us as a blog to change. We have already announced that but are still considering what format to take. You can also help us change by suggesting what we should do.
Anyways, happy birthday to the blog that kept the Nokia spirit alive, although it is not alone there. Big cheers to Nokiamob members who are a bit sleepy nowadays, but some are still active in our internal chat. Thanks to Stipe, Abdulla, Indranil, JK, Jeff, Krešo, and readers for staying with us.
