It is official now. Bye-bye Nokia Mobile
|HMD has just informed us that the transition from Nokia Mobile to HMDGlobal sites is complete and active.
The website has changed HMD, the makers of Nokia phones, indicating that the Nokia Mobile story has finally concluded. I have checked the Nokia Mobile socials, and they are now locked, with all followers gone.
The existing Nokia phones are still there, but HMD will probably rebrand some of them and create its own portfolio while their first devices will most likely be announced at MWC2024.
Bye-bye dear Nokia Mobile. Although the change doesn’t hurt like Stephen Elop’s Burning Memo, it doesn’t leave me indifferent. But maybe it’s for the better. Nokia deserves its place in history, and let it stay there. We’ll still see it on featurephones. Let’s see what (new) kids on the market have to offer.
But it seems that we might still be seeing Nokia (smart)phones afterall. HMD stated that new multi-brand strategy will include a HMD original range, Nokia phones, and exciting new partnerships.
Anyways, the website has changed to HMD, the makers of Nokia phones, indicating that the Nokia Mobile story has finally concluded. I have checked the Nokia Mobile socials, and they are now locked, with all followers gone or transferred to new handles.
