Is HMD Planning to Revive the Colorful Nokia 2300?
|The notorious smashx_60 has gotten their hands on a render that appears to depict yet another feature phone from the Nokia Original series. If the render is authentic—though it doesn’t quite seem so—HMD might be working on reviving the colorful Nokia 2300.
The first image could be a promotional render. The color scheme (a mix of pink and purple), button layout, and overall design have a playful, vintage vibe. The rounded buttons and screen icons suggest it’s a feature phone, possibly aimed at a younger audience or at nostalgic users. The darkened logos on both the back and front are positioned where the Nokia logo would typically be.
In contrast, the second image seems to show a real-life, physical version of the phone. However, it’s also possible this could be a clone or knockoff. It’s known that some manufacturers replicate older, popular Nokia designs and rebrand them.
Additionally, some concept videos of the Nokia 2300 have recently surfaced on YouTube, hinting that something might be in the works.
In the end, there might not be anything substantial coming from this—and honestly, that might be for the best. I’m not a fan of the direction HMD is taking with the Nokia Original series, as some of the latest models (6310, even some others) strongly resemble the 2017 version of the Nokia 3310. Now, the Nokia 3210, which looks similar, can pass because it was originally the predecessor of the 3310, so some design similarities can be justified. But I can’t shake the feeling that HMD is simply reusing the same design over and over. Wait—could they be doing what the old Nokia used to do? 🙂
