Jolla has some interesting news to share

Jolla experienced some financial difficulties but managed to overcome them through a complete reorganization of their ownership. The company is no longer in the smartphone manufacturing business but remains involved in the phone industry with its Sailfish OS, which can be installed on Sony Xperia 10 II/III devices for approximately €40 per installation.

Jolla was present at MWC 2024, just like HMD, and showcased their new product, Jolla Mind², in the lobby of a hotel in Barcelona. The Jolla Mind² is a gadget designed to work with AI, with the primary goal of ensuring the use of AI is as private and secure as possible. This “black box” serves as a private-cloud-cum-AI-router, providing a platform for running AI queries.

Jolla is also announcing Love Day 2, where they will discuss more about Jolla Mind². Additionally, they teased a camera module with a triple-camera setup and the inscription “Privacy from Finland.” The teaser was described as “Built by a community, for the community.” A privacy-centred phone that runs Sailfish OS might be a nice addition to the market. But, If it really is a phone, I’m suspicious about that camera module :).

They will be hosting a live stream on May 20th at 18:30 EEST on YouTube, where we will hear more about Jolla’s recent advancements, plans for the future and upcoming products.
