Nokia OZO enters camera market with Panasonic Lumix G100

Today, Nokia has announced its partnership with Panasonic to bring the Nokia OZO Audio technology on its Lumix camera for the first time ever. This is a huge step for Nokia as it always envisions integrating the technology in a wide array of products.

In the past two years, the OZO Audio has been adapted in many flagship devices from the top smartphone brands and in dashboard cameras like Axon. Its new partnership with Panasonic will open doors of possibility for the Nokia brand, especially in the camera market.

The Lumix G100 is a micro four-thirds camera designed specifically for vlogging and creative content creation. It has a 3-inch fully-articulated touchscreen display allowing creators to successfully frame their shots when facing directly to the camera. It is also small and lightweight which is makes it great for traveling.

The camera features a 20.3-megapixel sensor and supports video recording up to 4K 30fps, or 1080p when recording at 60fps. 4K videos can be recorded in either Cinelike D, Cinelike V, or V-Log L modes for advanced color grading, with a high 100Mbps bitrate.

The main highlight of the camera though is its revolutionary three-microphone array which enables all the high-end features of the Nokia OZO Audio. There has been a huge improvement in image quality in the consumer camera market through the years, but audio quality has always been the weakest point.

Panasonic’s partnership with the Nokia OZO Audio department aims for a change. The Lumix G100 is the first camera on its segment to feature Audio 3D, Audio Focus, Audio Zoom, and Audio Windscreen which Nokia optimized specifically for the device.

The Lumix G100 will hit the market in July of this year with a price tag of only £589.99.
