Lars Silberbauer is new CMO at HMD Global

HMD Global today announced that Lars Silberbauer will succeed Stephen Taylor in the position of chief marketing officer. Stephen, who joined HMD two years ago from PayPal to replace Pekka Rantala, has decided to leave HMD Global. Lars Silberbauer, who previously worked at the International Olympic Committee, MTV Digital Studios and Lego, will take over the important and hot chair of Chief Marketing Officer.

He definitely does not lack experience, having managed to improve LEGO’s social media presence. However, this brand can survive without marketing because I can tell you that 10- and 40-year-old boys can easily recognise Lego products. Prior to Lego, Lars was also working on improving the digital strategy for Danish Broadcasting Corporation. He will definitely have to use his skills to redesign the Nokia brand for smartphones and tablets.

Lars will lead HMD Global’s marketing efforts across its product portfolio, including its latest smartphone subscription service, Circular, and report directly to Florian Seiche.

We wish Stephen all the best in his future endeavours and welcome Lars. Let’s see what new energy can do for Nokia Mobile.
