Nokia phone maker HMD Global has a new Chief Marketing Officer

Almost a year ago, the maker of Nokia phones HMD Global announced the departure of their Chief Marketing Officer Pekka Rantala. He left HMD in September 2019 to start at the CEO role at Finnish fintech startup ePassi. This morning, his successor was announced.

In a press release sent to the media, the Home of Nokia devices HMD Global announced that Stephen Taylor will be the new Chief Marketing Officer. The job of a CMO is to come up and implement the marketing strategy for the company on a highest level, and as we know, marketing is really important in selling any goods.

Mr. Taylor came to HMD from the position of CMO at PayPal, but before that, from 2012 to 2016, he was the Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung Europe, meaning he has experience in doing marketing for mobile devices.

“At HMD Global, Stephen will be responsible for the overall marketing strategy and execution for the entire portfolio of Nokia phones and will report into Florian Seiche, Chief Executive Officer,” says the official press release.
