Nokia X20 announced in Kenya also without charger

Nokia X20
Nokia X20 is full of surprises

Nokia Mobile announced its currently best midrange phone in Kenya. The 6/128GB version of the Nokia X20 will be available there for KES 40,000 (311€), and according to the local portal, the phone is coming without an 18W wall charger.

This news is a bit of a surprise since Nokia Mobile said at the announcement that a wall charger or a brick will not be included in some markets, like Europe. Nokia Mobile did mention that in the future upcoming smartphones won’t be coming with wall chargers to help reduce electronic waste since many folks usually have chargers lying around at home.

But, this trendy decision of many manufacturers is not fair to those buyers that never owned a phone that can fast charge. For example, most Nokia phones used to come with a 10W charger, and if you get X20 which supports 18W charging, you won’t be able to experience the fast charging. However, 18W fast charging isn’t any special so you won’t be missing much, especially if you charge your phone overnight. But, you can always go to Nokia.com and get yourself an AD-18W charger if it is available.

Anyways, Nokia X20 will be available at Safaricom Shops, Mobile Hub, Anisuma and Jumia Online store, and you’ll be able to get an 8 GB RAM version too.
