Nokia G21 and G11 official videos reveal a marketing change
|What I used to love about Nokia when new phones, especially ones from the Lumia series, were launched was the official video that shows all the important selling points of the device. A bonus would be a nice song that I would search over the Soundhound or Shazam :). Also, Nokia would launch the videos the same day as new devices were announced, but that isn’t the case anymore.
Nokia Mobile was quite late with bringing official videos for the recently quietly announced Nokia G21 and Nokia G11. The new videos are still showing the selling points which are now being reduced to battery life. Videos are mostly a use case scenario and are suggesting which type of people are new affordable smartphones meant for.
While the video for G11 uses a standard format, the video for more expensive and feature-rich Nokia G21 is in Instagram 1:1 format which is strange to see on YouTube. Also, the G21 video promotes just security updates which means that we are not seeing a classic official release video but a social networking promotion.
Nokia Mobile is obviously changing the way of promoting new phones and are adjusting it for the digital marketing of the current trend. How do you like the new formats? Do you wan’t to see smiling happy youth or more phone specs and hardware disintegration graphics as seen in Nokia 9 Pureview?
