HMD Fusion Outfit Design Competition To Unleash Your Creativity

HMD has launched the HMD Fusion Outfit Design Competition, inviting fans to showcase their creativity and design unique outfits inspired by the HMD Fusion brand.

To participate, submit a 100-200 word outfit description along with a visual representation (hand-drawn, AI-generated, or 3D-rendered). Entries should align with HMD Fusion’s aesthetics and be functional and innovative.

The competition runs from February 4th to February 24th, with judging from February 25th to 27th. Winners will be announced on February 28th by a panel led by Raun Forsyth, VP Head of Design at HMD. There are 3 main prizes and winners will receive an HMD Fusion device and a collection of HMD Fusion gaming outfits. For more details, join the discussion in the competition’s official channels.

This seems like a great competition, reminding me of the old Nokia Conversations competition for the best 3D-printed Lumia 820 mask. However, Fusion’s smart outfits have the potential to enhance the Fusion device significantly. A well-designed and versatile outfit could become a valuable addition to the device.

I’ve been experimenting with the Flashy outfit, the first one that was announced, and it feels underdeveloped. Its LED light could serve more functions—for example, as a notification light for incoming calls or messages. With a single press, it could display the battery percentage or act as a progress bar for various tasks. The first thing that comes to mind is tracking the charging progress. Additionally, a wireless charging coil could be integrated into it.
