HMD launches its first phone, HMD Pulse.
|It is official now. HMD has announced its first smartphone, the HMD Pulse. The phone comes in three variants: Pulse, Pulse +, and Pulse Pro, with the main difference being in body colours and cameras, with the Pro version featuring a 50 MP camera, while the regular version has a 13 MP one. All the phones are powered by a UNISOC T606 processor, and the memory arrangement will vary between 4/64GB and 6/128 GB.
HMD Pulse is an entry-level phone that can be considered a proper feature phone in the smartphone world. It might not be powerful, but it has all the necessary features like NFC for contactless payments, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, WiFi 5, and a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 256 GB. Funnily, the Pro has an 8 MP selfie cam while the Pro is coming with a 50 MP selfie cam. That is rarely seen in the market (based on Gigantti specs).
HMD still hasn’t revealed the official specs of Pulse + and Pulse Pro on its site, but you can check them at the webshop of Finnish retailer Gigantti (HMD Pulse Pro | HMD Pulse). As you can see, the price of the elementary Pulse is set at 139€ while the Pro version will go up to 179€.
The availability is also different. The Pro version will be available from May 15, while the regular Pulse should be available from the 8th of May. The Pulse + version is yet to be seen.
