Nokia XR21 and HMD XR21 are the same

HMD recently rebranded the Nokia XR21 to the HMD XR21. This device is currently the only one being assembled and tested in the former Nokia factory in Hungary that HMD operates.

While it is logical to rebrand the toughest device in the portfolio aimed at European-based industries, many expected some changes in the hardware. However, not much has changed except for the logo, and here is the proof.

For those using the Nokia XR21, it has been discovered by Hikari Calyx on Twitter that you can rebrand your device to an HMD XR21 through a software tweak. By changing the SKUID to 1HMWW, your Nokia XR21 will be recognized as an HMD XR21.

If you need to revert it back to a Nokia XR21, simply change the SKUID back to 600WW. Hikari Calyx demonstrated this method on a Nokia XR21 prototype, successfully converting it to an HMD XR21.

Does this mean you can do the same for the HMD T21?
