First HMD Tablet TA-1597 Receives FCC Certificate

HMD is planning to rebrand the Nokia T21 to expand its own brand’s device portfolio. The device, concealed under the code name TA-1597, has recently obtained FCC certification, indicating that HMD’s tablet with an 8000 mAh battery, first noticed at the end of March, is gearing up for a likely global announcement. The FCC certification suggests it should also be available in the USA, but HMD will likely sell this popular tablet in other markets around the globe as well.

The declaration of differences indicates that there aren’t many hardware changes between the Nokia TA-1487 and the HMD TA-1597. The most noticeable alterations include the back logo, while the LCD display, camera module, charger, 4G antenna, and some internal cables will be sourced from different companies.

One significant change is the color scheme. While the Nokia T21 was available in Charcoal Grey, the new HMD T21 tablet (or whatever name it will carry) will come in Black Steel and Apricot colors.

The exact announcement date is unknown, but since it’s not as significant as HMD Fusion, this tablet might just appear overnight in stores.
