HMD will be Present at MWC2024 with new phones

HMD is a company that has recently undergone a complete reorganization of its smartphone business, adopting a new approach—specifically, a multi-brand strategy. Representatives from HMD have confirmed their presence at MWC2024, as also announced by their CMO, Lars Silbauer, in a LinkedIn post.

The company is in the process of transitioning from being a licensee to establishing itself as a multi-brand entity with a distinct HMD brand product line, set to be unveiled at MWC2024. Additionally, HMD will showcase various licensing partnerships and engage in significant brand collaborations.

While the news is intriguing, there is also anticipation regarding whether the new HMD lineup will feature the Fabula design showcased in the released renders. It is known that HMD will release two models, each with Plus and Pro versions. Recently, a tip received by 91mobiles.com suggests that HMD will launch three phones under the HMD brand in the initial phase.

The first model is expected to be priced between €110 and €170, likely entering the Indian market with a price range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. However, HMD does not plan to release phones priced above €450 (Rs 40,000) in India this year, although there will be a midrange model priced just below €450.

HMD’s plan for the Indian market is also huge according to 91mobiles. HMD Global is set to introduce an exclusive service centre dedicated to HMD, which is uncommon for other brands in that market. Apparently, the research for this initiative has already commenced.

Despite the exciting developments, HMD is not yet listed on the MWC2024 floor plan, at least not under the names HMD or Human Mobile Devices. It is anticipated that their booth will be added to the exhibitor list later this month, considering that MWC is just three weeks away, starting on February 26.
