HMD Global Rocky also incoming

HMD Global is gearing up to release at least two new phones, which will likely happen at MWC 2024. We previously saw the render of their first affordable smartphone, based on the Nokia C32. The second device is expected to be either a feature phone or a modern take on a feature phone.

By ‘modern,’ I mean a power-reduced smartphone with the GO edition of Android—a super affordable hybrid. It won’t be as power-hungry as a feature phone but will offer more than limited smartphone capabilities, similar to the Nokia C22.

The codename for this phone has just surfaced on Geekbench. It’s named HMD Global Rocky, scoring 200 points on a single-core and 838 points on a multi-core test. These results are similar to those of the Nokia C22.

Additionally, Rocky and C22 will likely share some hardware specifications, such as the same Unisoc octa-core processor clocked at a base frequency of 1.2 GHz and 4 GB of internal RAM. The TensorFlow Lite CPU Inference score was 201, while the Vulcan score was 34.

Therefore, it’s highly probable that the two unreleased designs on the EUIPO page belong to N159V and HMD Global Rocky.

Yep, I completely understand why HMD codenamed it Rocky ?. This one is expected to be slapped around (by the media) just as much as Rocky was.
