Happy New Year dear all!

Happy New Year, dear readers, followers, aficionados, Nokia fans, but most of all kind people. I wish you all the best for 2022, and may it be better and less challenging than the past one.

The year 2021 was a bit unpredictable and still dominated by the COVID pandemic that will be with us in 2022 as well, but the world will adapt and overcome the challenges brought by this zoonotic virus. You know what they say, if it does not kill you, it makes you stronger.

Nokia is still going strong, its financial reports are better than the previous ones, and the company is investing heavily in R&D and its brand awareness. Its smartphone brand has also been doing well if we look at shipments, but some radical changes are still expected. Nokia Mobile has changed its naming scheme, reorganised its business strategy and in 2022 we should also see the design change in the affordable class of Nokia smartphones that mainly dominate the existing portfolio.

Nokiamob will be nine years old in 2021, and in just four months this project will be 10 years old. Google gave us a boost in 2020 and we hit a million readers a month, but in 2021 it took back everything it had. We are now at about 400,000 monthly readers and hovering around that number, but Nokia Mobile did not help us increase the number of readers either. But there have been some interesting phones that have brought eyes back to Nokia, like the Nokia X20, the first rugged Nokia smartphone XR20 and also Nokia Mobile’s first tablet, the Nokia T20. Nokia Mobile also announced the Nokia X100, which should help them capture some market share in the US, and there are a few more midrangers ready for the continent across the Atlantic.

I am glad that you leave your comments every day, that you are constructive and willing to discuss even when thoughts disagree, with the same goal of improving the Nokia brand and ecosystem. This makes me and the Nokiamob crew very happy, because it seems that Nokiamob is not just a website, but a platform that connects people with all their differences.

I wish you all to stay connected in these difficult times, continue to enjoy your life or find the strength to turn things around for the better. Stay positive (not on the antigen test) and see you in 2022.

Warm regards from the entire Nokiamob team, Stipe, Indranil, J.K. Abdulla and myself (Marin). Happy New Year!
