Making ruggedized products is something that Nokia Mobile did not attempt until it recently announced the Nokia XR20, which by the way, is already in for review. However, it used to offer rugged cases as a part of the official accessories lineup, like the Nokia Rugged Impact Case (or Nokia Tough Case) for the first generation Nokia 6 and Nokia 5.
Later, the company came up with the 007 Special Edition Kevlar Case for the Nokia 6.2, Nokia 7.2, and Nokia 5.3 to celebrate its partnership with the James Bond movie “No Time To Die.” A rugged case for the Nokia 8.3 5G was also there somewhere in the pipeline, but HMD Global likes to keep some things to itself, so…
Nevertheless, the company is all set to bring back the Nokia XR20’s ruggedized touch to its first-ever tablet in the form of a case and flip cover. A few European retailers have added the Rugged Case priced at €23 (₹2000, US$27) and Rugged Flip Cover priced at €34 (₹3000, US$40) for the Nokia T20 to their catalogue.
Rugged cases hint that Nokia Mobile is also targeting the enterprise market for the Nokia T20. Interestingly, the availability date for both the products is said to be September 13, which means the launch event might take place in mid-September.
The retailers expect the Wi-Fi only variant to cost £185 (€216, ₹18750, US$255), and the 4G variant might cost around £202 (€235, ₹20430, US$278) in the UK. More details can be expected in the coming days as there’s still some time left for the event to take place.
