Nokia 2720 Flip arrives in the US as Nokia 2720 V Flip on Verizon

Nokia Mobile finally announced the Nokia 2720 V Flip on Verizon in the US. The device with the model number TA-1295 was first spotted on FCC in January end. It is pretty much the same as the global variant, which was launched back in September 2019 and misses the letter “V” in its name and the Verizon logo.

The only clamshell phone by the company supports 4G LTE, two screens, and runs on KaiOS, which helps it run apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, and many more. Google Assistant also accompanies the flip phone. The 1.3-inch front screen can display date and time, notifications, and Caller ID during calls. It comes with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 32 GB.

On flipping the phone, you will find a 2.8-inch screen and a T9 keypad with large buttons. It also features a 2 MP camera at the back with a LED flash. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 205 processor and a 1500 mAh removable battery, Nokia 2720 V Flip claims a standby time of 28 days or a talk time of 10 hours in a single charge.

There is a dedicated emergency button, which on pressing sends an emergency text message, including the current location, and calls five chosen contacts in the address book until it makes a connection to an emergency contact. The device supports Bluetooth 4.1, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, VoLTE, VoWiFi, and GPS/AGPS.

Announcing the phone, Cristian Capelli, Vice President – North America, HMD Global, said,

“HMD Global is excited to bring the classic flip phone back to Verizon, this time with smarter features like 4G connectivity and built-in Google Assistant. The newest member of our Originals family, the Nokia 2720 V Flip is the perfect introduction to the smart feature phone category, packed with apps and features at an affordable price.”

Unlike the global variant, which is also available in Grey and Red colors, the Nokia 2720 V Flip arrives only in Black color. It will go on sale starting from May 20 for US$79.99 (€66, ₹5880) on Verizon’s online store and in-store.

Verizon already sells a bunch of flip feature phones by Alcatel, Kazuna, Kyocera, and Orbic. It will be interesting to see how the Nokia 2720 V Flip fares over there. Anyways, you can check the review of the global variant of the Nokia 2720 Flip here.
