Janne Laakso is Nokia’s new HMD Global board member

With the announcement of Barry French leaving Nokia Corporation, a question was raised about who will take his place on the board of HMD Global. Barry announced he was leaving Nokia on the last day of 2020, so it was up to Nokia to find a suitable replacement.

That replacement is Janne Laakso, a long-time Nokian who is currently working as a Senior Vice President of Nokia, in the Group Business Control and Performance Management. Janne has been in Nokia for almost 24 years now and was usually working with finances, which is something that HMD Global needs in its Board right now. Janne was also working as a CFO of Nokia Technologies, which is something that HMD Global might find useful.

Anyway, the board of HMD Global now has four members, and the members are Florian Seiche, Jean-Francois Baril, Ivan Yeh, and Nokia’s representative Janne Laakso.

Cheers Thomas for the tip 😉
