Android 9 Pie for Nokia 8 late in India because of issues with VoLTE

Android 9 Pie was officially released on Nokia 8 back on 19th of December, but many people still didn’t get probably the most wanted update ever (for that model at least). Nokia 8 is the first affordable top model from HMD, and it is obvious that its owners and other fans will be outraged because some low-end devices are getting the update.

The CPO of HMD Global, Juho Sarvikas, explained in a tweet why people are not getting the Pie for their Nokia 8. The reason lies in some problems with VoLTE in India, so they are working on a new software version. He didn’t say when the update will be released, but he did say that some new options will be coming so it might take a while. If Adaptive battery, app actions and some other are going to be included, it is worth to wait a bit more.
