HMD Ridge Pro, A New Phone From HMD Global

HMD is pretty busy lately according to the leaks, mostly coming from one reliable source which seems to have hands on some pre-sales promo material. The recent leak suggests that HMD Global is preparing to launch a new device, the HMD Ridge Pro. This smartphone could target the US market, following the Ridge Deluxe, which bears a striking resemblance to the HMD Atlas. However, global availability can’t be excluded. The Ridge Pro promises to combine impressive specifications with affordability, aiming to make a significant impact upon release.

According to the leak, the Ridge Pro will feature a 6.64-inch IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution. It is expected to support a 120Hz refresh rate and peak at 800 nits, offering a vibrant and smooth visual experience.

The device is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, built on a 4nm process, which should provide efficient performance and power management.

The leak indicates a versatile camera setup, including a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, a 50MP front camera is expected, suggesting sharp and detailed image capture.

The Ridge Pro is likely to come in two configurations: 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage, and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage, with both variants supporting microSD expansion.

A robust 5,500mAh battery is anticipated, which should provide long-lasting performance throughout the day.

The phone is expected to support 5G connectivity, along with Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, ensuring comprehensive connectivity options.

The Ridge Pro is rumored to have an IP54 rating, making it resistant to dust and splashes. It is also expected to run on Android 14, offering an updated and smooth user experience.

Leaked information suggests three colors: Mocha, Snow, and Glacier Green, providing a range of choices for potential buyers.

With all these devices being leaked, HMD is trying to replace all the Nokia devices announced back in 2023. However, the different names used for quite similar designs could be confusing. This device seems like a potential successor to Nokia models like the Nokia G50, G42 5G, X10, and X20. If the leaks are accurate, the Ridge Pro could attract users looking for a reliable and modern smartphone with advanced features at a competitive price.
