HMD Rocky brings a new camera module design

Since HMD Rocky was certified by the FCC, its distinctive-looking camera module has been revealed. The device remains somewhat of a mystery, as it offers nothing specific that Pulse doesn’t. HMD seems to be overproducing the models with similar hardware aimed at various markets instead of focusing on just one good model.

Anyways, HMD MEME’s Twitter account revealed the first render and specs of a device that is most likely HMD Rocky. That third hole isn’t a special camera but just a fingerprint reader placed on the back.

Here are the basic specs of HMD Rocky:

  • IPS LCD 6.5″ HD+
  • 13MP AI PDAF + Depth / 5MP
  • Unisoc SC9863A SoC
  • 4/64GB, 4/128GB
  • Android 13
  • 5,000mAh + 10W
  • IP52, Back FPS, 3.5mm audio jack, Micro SD, USB-C 2.0 etc.

So, this device just brings a slightly different design of a camera module, Xiaomi-like modules, but it might reduce the movement of the device when used on a flat surface.
