Nokia 3210 promo video released

The HMD released an official promo video of the new Nokia 3210 on YouTube. The video has some elements reminiscent of the great announcement videos Nokia used to produce, albeit modernized to a certain extent, perhaps bordering on tackiness.

Its main focus lies on the device’s refreshed design and colour palette rather than delving deeply into the features this feature phone icon brings. However, a brief moment is reserved for specs, mentioning its inclusion of Snake, but notably omitting any reference to Bluetooth connectivity or a 3.5 mm jack. Nevertheless, such details may be less crucial if this phone is intended to be regarded as jewellery to be worn on special occasions.

I appreciate the way it commenced with the pixelated image teased at MWC2024, introducing the newly coined term “newtro,” and featuring music whose main theme might be a ringtone included in the device.

I view these videos as part of a tradition or folklore surrounding new phone launches. One aspect that perplexes me is why it couldn’t have been uploaded concurrently with the announcement of the device and not a day later…
