HMD Launches Contest in India Instead of Device

HMD had some announcement plans for the Indian market, but the plan didn’t go through because of a simple reason: the company lacked a proper name for its first smartphone announcement in India. The whole promotion of bringing the first HMD smartphone to India, a country that was once a stronghold for the Nokia brand, is taking a different turn.

While HMD is still making Nokia phones, they’re not the smartphones that people in India are accustomed to. So, to shift the focus away from Nokia and make their phone even more special or unique, HMD is asking their (or ex-Nokia fans) to give it a name that would make this device stand out.

We know that in the US, the Pulse is actually called the Vibe (a device similar to the Pulse but with an SD processor). Now, in India, this device should also carry a different name. HMD is making it a contest for fans in India.
