HMD Protecting a Lot of New Designs at EUIPO

It has been over a month since HMD announced new devices at the MWC2024 event. However, it seems that HMD won’t just be pushing their and partners’ new devices but also one Nokia Original device and a bunch of feature phones. Various certificates have verified that, and around 17 variants should be released sometime this summer.

However, looking at EUIPO, HMD is protecting a lot of designs. Somehow, I’m not sure that all of those are designs of devices. HMD is planning on bringing the Fusion device, the one that we still haven’t heard much about. That device should be coming with different smart outfits, just like Motorola with its mods. And the protected designs might be just that.

So, there are 13 unrevealed design patents on the EUIPO page, and some might soon be revealed. I must applaud HMD for keeping things tight, especially around the Fusion project. That is the one I’m looking forward to the most.
