HMD Pulse and Fusion won’t be alone

HMD Global is gearing up to launch two new smartphones that will mark their new strategy and the Nokia afterlife. The models we have heard of are HMD Pulse and HMD Fusion. However, Geekbench is telling a different story. According to recent Geekbench results, HMD will be launching Illusion alongside Pulse and Fusion.

The Geekbench scores are high, suggesting that the device will likely feature the long-awaited powerful Snapdragon or Dimensity processor. The device scored 2008 points in a single core and 7025 points in a multicore test, which is comparable to, for example, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

This suggests that HMD is boldly aiming high with a top-tier device like this. They could also leverage the Fusion project to make it unique with smart outfits planned for their midranger.

I don’t know why, but this device is being tested with Android 13, which is a bit strange but could indicate that the device has been in the works since last year. The codename ‘Joker’ also suggests that this phone might have initially been a Nokia device, which HMD changed to fit their new strategy.

In any case, this move is something many expected to see from a Nokia device, but it seems that HMD has managed to persuade its investors to tackle the world of ultimate smartphones. If they don’t manage to sell this model well, it might be the final blow for the Finns.

Thanks JK for the find!
