HMD could also launch a feature phone at MWC2024

HMD, the manufacturer of Nokia phones, announced last year that it is planning on having its own child. However, the young company intends to adopt a few more kids. This is a bold move since it could prove harder to distinguish the devices.

Price will surely be one thing that should differentiate HMD’s products since price dictates hardware parts. However, HMD Legend is telling us the opposite. The design might be the other thing that should help the general population distinguish HMD branded phones, for example, Nokia ones.

Now, HMD is planning on launching Nokia classics, which are most likely Nokia feature phones, but they will also try themselves in that category too. The LinkedIn cover photo of Ming Li, who holds the Product Propositions and Marketing position at HMD Global, is revealing the potential design of HMD feature phones which look like a rebranded and quite popular Nokia 2660 Flip. The design of the phone is good, with even flip sides of the phone that should connect seamlessly and form a nice unibody when closed.

The cyan colour is nice, and the design is pure, simple, and effective. It reminds me of a Nokia device, not the original HMD feature phone. And that is where the problems will start for HMD. Or that is what they are aiming at to boost the sales.

Anyways, the feature phone from HMD is surely coming at MWC2024, maybe not in the form we see in this render, but something similar might be the end product.
