HMD’s first laptop will be rebranded Nokia T21
|HMD is poised to separate from Nokia by launching its own brand. The first step was initiated with the announcement of the M-Koppa X1, a rebranded Nokia C32 designed specifically for the African company M-KOPA. This move signifies their strategy to attract new customers, considering these models were already in the market under the Nokia brand.
The subsequent step involves transferring the website from Nokia’s servers to HMD.com. The third step will introduce its own brand, along with rebranded Nokia devices, including the Nokia C32, the Nokia XR21, and seemingly the Nokia T21—an upgraded version of Nokia Mobile’s inaugural tablet, the Nokia T20.
The T21 tablet appeared on Geekbench as HMD T21, demonstrating consistent single and multi-core scores, as it is essentially the same tablet. Though untested, it seems to be an improved version of the T20, offering optimal performance for its asking price. According to the Geekbench test, HMD plans to release the device with Android 13, which, in my opinion, is a missed opportunity. Nonetheless, it remains a valuable purchase for those seeking an affordable large-screen accessory or even a secondary display.
