Chris Evans remembers the good old Nokia flip phone era

In an interview with GQ, Hollywood superstar Chris Evans reminisced about the days when smartphones were not the centre of our lives. Two decades ago, while filming the cult movie Fantastic Four”, the cast and crew had a different way of passing the time between takes. They didn’t bury their heads in smartphones, but sat down together and talked. The reason for this, according to Chris, was the fact that everyone had a Nokia flip phone at the time.

Evans has a history with Nokia since one of his early roles was using s bit smarter Nokia to save a kidnapped woman. If you never watched Cellular, do it :).

Anyways, it’s hard to believe that 20 years ago our lives were not dominated by the glowing screens of smartphones. It was a different time, one in which the digital world had not yet penetrated every aspect of our lives. In the early 2000s, Nokia was the reigning champion of mobile phones, and one of their most iconic designs was the classic candybar or flip phones, known for its durability and, of course, long battery life.

When talking about Nokia flip phones, you probably know that Nokia has made a comeback in recent years, combining the best of the past with modern technology. The Nokia 2660 Flip is a good example of this. With its classic flip design, it pays homage to the phones of yesteryear while offering important features for today’s connected world. However, they could have found room for WhatsApp.

In a time when we are almost glued to our smartphones, Chris Evans’ memoir reminds us of the importance of disconnecting from the digital world from time to time. While smartphones have undoubtedly revolutionised our lives, it is important to find a balance and take breaks to stay in touch with the real world and the people around us.

The Nokia 2660 Flip may not be the perfect modern flip phone, but it offers the ability to embrace the simplicity of a bygone era and still stay connected when you need to. Discover it at Nokia.com/phones.
