Withings announced new hybrid smartwatch Scanwatch Horizon

For a short period, Nokia used to manufacture watches which was made possible by acquiring Withings. The French maker of health gadgets became popular because of its digital health accessories and, most importantly, great hybrid watches. After the announcement of Steel HR, the company showed a great potential of becoming the best manufacturer of hybrid smartwatches. They just proved that with the announcement of a new Scanwatch limited edition called Horizon. The new Scanwatch Horizon is basically a Scanwatch but in a more mature body that resembles the popular Citizen Promaster or Seiko diving watches.

Horizon is coming in a 316L stainless steel case with flat sapphire glass on top, a rotating bezel, and a digital crown. The case diameter is 43 mm, and the size of the exchangeable wristbands is 20 mm. The face of the watch is available in blue and green colours. Withings is finally introducing luminous indexes so you can check the time in the dark with ease. The new Scanwatch Horizon is waterproof up to 100 meters, and the health monitoring sensors are the same as in a regular Scanwatch.

This hybrid Smartwatch has ECG, heart rate & oximeter, and it will provide you with advanced sleep tracking with a full report of sleep cycles, sleep duration and wake-up, which will be expressed as a Sleep Score. There is also a detailed report on heart health tracking, and you have 24/7 activity tracking. The watch automatically tracks walking, biking, run, swim, sleep, distance, elevation (floor climbed) & calories burned.

Horizon is also bringing a PMOLED screen for checking call, text, calendar and app notifications and daily health statistics. The screen is controlled by rotating the digital crown.

Since this watch isn’t a true smartwatch with a big shiny screen and networking connectivity, its battery will last up to 30 days on a single charge plus 20 more days in power reserve mode. It will charge for one hour till 80% and two hours till 100%, which is a standard nowadays.
