New Nokia TA-1373 4G feature phone heading to India

Nokia TA-1373

As per the two weeks old TENAA certification in China, HMD Global will soon announce two new affordable 4G-enabled Nokia-branded feature phones. And a recent certification by BIS dated May 10 reveals that one of those feature phones is also headed to India.

The Nokia TA-1373 for the Indian market is being manufactured by one of the subsidiaries of Foxconn Technology called Rising Stars Mobile in Tamil Nadu. Rising Stars Mobile is responsible for producing all the Nokia feature phones that are available in India.

The VoLTE enabled Nokia TA-1373 will bring a 1.77-inch screen, a 1020 mAh battery, and a VGA camera. The internal storage stands at 128 MB, which will help store around 2000 contacts, while the storage will be expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. Network bands supported by the device are as follows: GSM (850, 900, 1800); WCDMA (1, 5, 8); LTE (1, 3, 5, 8, 38, 39, 40, 41). Nokia TA-1373 will be available in Black, Blue, and Yellow colors.

Currently, Nokia 225 4G and Nokia 215 4G are the most affordable 4G feature phones by Nokia Mobile. With the Nokia TA-1373 and Nokia TA-1389, the company seems to be reducing the costs of such devices even more. Nokia TA-1373 will be the third 4G feature phone by Nokia Mobile in India. While on the other hand, the company has refrained from bringing the expensive 4G feature phones (except for the Nokia 8110 4G) to the country, be it the Nokia 2720 Flip, 800 Tough, or even the last year’s Nokia 8000 4G and 6300 4G.

Anyways, Nokia TA-1373 is not the only device that Nokia Mobile is planning to launch in India. Nokia TA-1366, most possibly a new smartphone, also received the certification on April fool’s day. Apart from that, the battery of the current Nokia G series devices is also registered in the BIS database, but the devices are not registered yet.

So, the launch of these phones in India can be expected in a month or two.
