Raun Forsyth revealing a lot of new Nokia phones or not?
|In an announcement video for Nokia 8 V 5G UW (broke my fingers typing this), there was a nice sequence where Raun Forsyth, the head designer at Nokia Mobile, was talking about how the product was crafted. This reminds me of a great after announcement videos filmed with Marko Ahtisaari, the former Head of Design at Nokia’s D&S department, where he would talk about the philosophy behind the device, which would make me perceive it not as a piece of plastic and chips, but like the real extension of a human body and mind.
I like the energy that Raun brings to the whole video and the way he passionately explains how Nokia 8 V 5G UW was designed. However, what I also like is the large number of familiar smartphones and unfamiliar prototypes lying around Raun’s and his colleague’s desktop.
There you could spot various prototypes, and the gray one on Raun’s left could easily be the next Nokia 6.3 or even Nokia 9 as Nokia Anew suggests. The phone seems long, but slim, with nicely curved body. It could be new Nokia 6.3 or even Nokia 9, but it could also be an early dummy of Nokia 8.3 5G.
Here is what our Abdulla thinks about the device.
There is also a gray version of the Nokia 8.3 5G or Nokia 8 V 5G UW to his left.
There is also a dummy of a slider phone that looks like a feature phone, or maybe the modern version of the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic, just across the Raun’s desk.
This video does really tell us that Raun’s department is playing with various designer solutions before the end product gets its shape, and in a world where it is expensive to have your own manufacturing plant, playing around with prototypes tells us the effort Nokia Mobile puts before the launch of a smart of a feature phone.
Anyway, the last thing I noticed is how many cables there is on Raun’s desk, and was wondering if he can make it more wireless, at least with a mouse? 🙂
So, what are your thoughts on devices seen around Raun Forsyth?
