We might soon see a new Nokia-branded earbuds, that might be the highest end Nokia-branded audio offering thus far. With the name Nokia Pro True Wireless Earphones P3802A passed BT SIG and as the “Pro” in the name suggests, this might be high end Nokia earbuds that could compete with AirPods Pro or Freebuds Pro.
As BT SIG certification reveals, the company that submitted the device for certification is RichGo Technology, the Chinese company that is the licensee for Nokia brand on headphones in China. We first heard of that deal during summer with the Nokia Essential Wireless Headphones (E1200), Nokia Essential True Wireless Earphones (E3500), and Nokia Essential True Wireless Earphones (E3200). These products are limited to some markets, more precisely mainland China and Hong Kong as the official Nokia site mentions.
The certification also shows BT 5.1 as the version of Bluetooth connection standard the headphones will use and that the product certification was published on 16th October, which is 2 days ago at the time of writing of this article.
I hope that the headphones will also be available in other markets than China. In fact, some earbuds that are “globally” available are still hard to get and the market for BT headphones is flourishing, especially with the push for remote work (and meetings) that the pandemic caused.
