The next Nokia Lumia 1020 is Huawei Mate 40 Pro
When HMD Global started the Nokia Mobile business, many of us expected the next Nokia Lumia 1020, or at least the continuation of the whole PureView camera development. The first Nokia 9, or Nokia 8 Sirocco brought a rather good camera, but the real successor of the top PureView Nokia phone was still missing. Nokia 9 PureView was rather promising but turned out to be great just for photography. So, we are still waiting for the successor of Nokia Lumia 1020 and seems to me that Nokia Mobile won’t be the one to announce it.
According to the renders of new Mate 40 Pro, Huawei will be the one to create what everyone wanted, a whole new and updated Nokia Lumia 1020. The renders revealed that great camera technology that Huawei has developed in the past two years is going to be placed in a large rounded camera module, positioned in the upper back part of the phone. The phone will have rather smooth lines, a curved bezeless screen, not so many buttons, and all the unnecessary things removed from the body, just like Nokia Lumia 1020 was. The only thing I would change on the renders is the position of LED flash. The LED flash should be placed in the camera module to make the Mate 40 Pro a true Lumia 1020 successor. Maybe that dual front-facing cameras should be moved also to a popup module, but hey, this is going to be cool too.
Nokia Mobile still has the right to use the round camera module at the back, since it is really convenient for placing multiple camera lenses there. But, the users of Nokia Mobile smartphones have the right to a great Nokia camera phone, since people will go fully to Huawei which is currently the ruler of smartphone photography.
