We have been hearing a lot about new Nokia devices lately, mostly about Nokia 6.2 and 7.2, but the only thing real was the Nokia 220 4G and all-new Nokia 105. Since the midrange lineup of Nokia smartphones is soon going to be renewed, it would be nice to hear some info about the high-end devices. Leakster Ishan Agarwal shared on Twitter some unconfirmed information about the possible Nokia 8.2. Ishan leaked some good info just before MWC2019 which gives him a bit of credibility. Anyway, he said that Nokia 8.2 will come with a 32MP Pop-Up Selfie Camera. This phone should also be coming with Android Q out of the box and have 8GB of RAM followed by 256GB of internal storage.
He also stated that he can’t confirm this info, so we checked around and got the same answer. However, if this turns out to be true, Nokia 8.2 will be Nokia’s first smartphone with a Pop-Up camera, which is trendy in the smartphone industry. We might then be seeing this device at the very end of 2019 just after Google announces and releases the latest version of Android., which is going to be Android Q. Of course, this is all unconfirmed so use this info just as a workout for your imagination.
I’d love to see a Nokia device with a pop-up camera. To have a Pop-Up camera is a must nowadays, especially after OnePlus (headline photo) showed it to be a nice solution for creating the all-screen front surface on smartphones. But, if all turns out to be true, it will show that HMD is just a mear follower of the trends and can’t do anything by himself. Also, it could mean that HMD can’t find some serious investment to run true R&D, so the only way to go further is to follow trends. What do you think?
