HMD investigating the background task killer issue

At the very beginning of 2019, the whole thing with aggressive background task killing in the Android-running phones broke loose. One site with an interesting name “Don’t kill my app” started rating the Android Phone vendors with poop to demonstrate how aggressively they were killing apps in the background to prolong the battery life. Unfortunately, Nokia phones made by HMD were on the top of the list, followed by OnePlus, Xiaomi, Huawei and others. In the meantime, some bigger tech portals started covering this small affair, and they also were using a Nokia phone as a reference for the highest background task killing.
We reached out to HMD to shed some light on the issue, and we just received their answer. HMD didn’t say much of the issue other than they are aware of it and investigating it. HMD’s answer and our question is below.

We’ll see how this whole thing is going to develop, but I believe we’ll be hearing from HMD soon.
