After a short period of Beta testing, HMD officially released the Android 9 Pie update for the Nokia 8. If you’re a Nokia 8 user not signed into Beta Labs, don’t get too excited because, as always, the rollout is phased and it starts today. Phased rollout means that not all Nokia 8 units will receive Pie at the same time, but some variants on some markets will get it before others do. It usually takes from one to few weeks before the update reaches most users, at least so was the case with our Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 7 Plus.
Enjoy the festivities with another fresh piece of 🥧 from us – this time on Nokia 8! Phased roll out of #Android 9 Pie for #Nokia8 starts today.
HMD’s CPO Juho Sarvikas posted the info about the rollout start on Twitter, but he didn’t mention the Nokia 8 Sirocco. Nokia 8 Sirocco, just like Nokia 8, both of which are HMD’s flagship devices with Snapdragon 835, were scheduled to receive Android 9 Pie by the end of November, but they didn’t. The Pie status for Nokia 8 Sirocco remains unknown.
