HMD Global today started rolling out the November security update for last year’s Nokia 5 and 6, and the still current “affordable flagship” device, the Nokia 8. The November update contains just the security patch, and vary in size from 62MB for the Nokia 8 to 108MB for the 6.
Keep in mind, that updates aren’t available for all devices at the same time, so it may take some time before your Nokia 5, 6 or 8 gets the update.
This month, owners of Nokia 8 and 8 Sirocco can also expect the Android 9 Pie update. Exact release date reamins unknown, but considering the update rollout started on time for the 7 plus, 6.1, and 6.1 plus, we can trust HMD that the rollout will start before the deadline. Stuff like bricking phones with update, which happened with the X7 in China, destroy trust, so hopefully Nokia Mobile will be more focused while releasing updates.
