Nokia 5, 6, 7 and 8 Sirocco start receiving the September update

This month’s update cycle started with the Nokia 7 plus yesterday receiving a new Android Pie build inside the developer preview program, but the First official updates HMD sent out this month are aimed at first generation Nokia Android smartphones – Nokia 5 (2017), 6 (2017), 7, and for the this year’s flagship, the Nokia 8 Sirocco.

All of the mentioned devices received just the September security patch, with update sizes ranging from 75MB to 150MB, depending on the device. Keep in mind that not all devices get the update at the same time, and that update availability differs depending on the market variant of the device.

HMD Global created a great website for tracking the availability of security updates for a particular device based on the “build number” you can find in Settings->Sytem->About, but the website was last updated on 31st August, so it’s useless at the moment. Hopefully, HMD will update their site, too.

If you received an update for any of the above mentioned devices (or any other devices), do leave a comment down below with your market (maybe build number?) and how the process went. 🙂

Thanks everyone for the tips. 🙂
