#Nokia 3310 design patent granted to #HMD by #EUIPO

After securing the designs of Nokia 3, 5 and 6, HMD Global was granted a design patent for the new Nokia 3310 (2017) in Single SIM and Dual SIM versions. HMD applied for the patent at EUIPO on 23rd January this year, and was registered and published today, on June 2nd. The device was designed by Frida Andersson, who works as a Program Design Lead at HMD in London, and has a 10-year history of working at Nokia and Microsoft.

Considering that Nokia 3310 (2017) clones have already flooded a lot of markets, securing the design patent is a smart move. It’s nice to see that a lot of talented ex-Nokia employees, like Frida and others, are back with HMD and are creating new Nokia devices.

On HMD’s EUIPO profile still remain two masked designs, from which one was filled on February 2nd, and the other on March 31st.
