HMD released source codes for Nokia 6 (2017) and Nokia 1
|HMD started releasing Kernel Source Codes of some of its devices. This code enables us to use the hardware of our phones, and probably makes developers job much easier.
The original Nokia 6 and Nokia 1 were the first devices whose source code was published on the official Nokia pages. Hopefully, the codes of other Nokia phones will be available soon.
HMD was obligated to provide the codes under the GPL and LGPL licenses. Anyway, this won’t be of much help for many developers who need a bootloader unlocked to do more stuff for HMD’s Nokia devices. HMD said that it would eventually make its devices bootloader unlocked, but nothing has changed since then.
If you are a developer interested in Nokia devices, go here and download the released source codes.
