The man himself, world famous leaker Evan Blass, on Twitter known as Evleaks, released the renders of Nokia 1 and Nokia 7 plus. Both devices look great from the leaked renders.

The Nokia 1 has a mix of Asha and low-end Lumia design, even further, the shape of housing, especially the bottom curve reminds me of 808 PureView, especially in red. The 7 Plus is an extension of Nokia 7 design, and from the renders a 3.5mm headphone jack can be seen, which is a great thing.

Nokia 1

We first heard about Nokia 1 from Russian industrial spy Eldar Multrazin. He also mentioned some specifications of the device, that include:

  • Android Go
  • IPS LCD in HD resolution
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 8GB of storage
  • €90 price tag

Nokia 1 should be HMD’s lowest offering and should run on Android Go, a version of Google’s Android OS specially designed for low end hardware. This device will most certainly be destined for developing nations in Asia, Africa and Latin America. I like its design, I mean, it’s now where near the looks of Nokia 7 plus, as you will see below, but for a low end phone it looks good, and Nokia-like.

Nokia 7 plus

Evleaks released the renders of Nokia 7 plus, HMD’s biggest and first device with 18:9 screen. The 7 plus looks beautiful and it features the dual-color design we saw with the Nokia 6 2018. On the front we have the huge, allegedly 6-inch, screen, a front camera and the iconic Nokia brand. On the back, there is a dual-camera with ZEISS optics, a fingerprint sensor and dual-LED flash.

Nokia 7 plus is also branded as Android One on the back, meaning using “Pure Android” and a minimum of 2-years of updates. Basically the same we have now, but now HMD has decided to use Google’s branding for it.

Here are alleged specs of the Nokia 7 Plus:

  • Screen: 6 inch, 18:9 ratio, Full HD +
  • Processor: Snapdragon 660, Adreno 512 GP
  • Memory: 4GB RAM, 64GB storage expandable up to 128 GB with MicroSD
  • Camera: 12MP + 13 MP, ZEISS, 2X optical zoom, 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, Dual PD all pixel focus, Nokia Pro Mode app, Bothie
  • Connectivity: USB-C
  • Battery: Fast charging
  • OS: Android 8.0 preinstalled, upgrade to 8.1 possible

Both devices are expected to be seen at HMD’s MWC press event scheduled for 25th of February. The dates on the devices also confirm that we will see the devices by the end of the month. To me, both of them look great for their price point, and the Nokia 7 plus could attract a lot of Lumia 1520 users with its 6-inch screen (if the specs are correct).

Leave your thoughts about the looks of the devices down below. 🙂

Thanks everyone for the tip. 🙂
