Remember that leak of the Nokia 9 back panel? Well, according to latest leak coming from Chinese Baidu, that back panel belongs to Nokia 7 Plus, or new Nokia 7 plus could resemble much to the future Nokia 9. Or, we can also complicate it like this, Nokia 7 Plus looks like Nokia 9 that could easily turn out to be Nokia 8 Sirocco. Even though HMD made a pretty big confusion about the potential 2018 Nokia smartphone lineup, Nokia 7 Plus could be something that we have been waiting a long time.
This device will have 6 inch HD+ screen of 18:9 aspect ratio, almost bezelles front side of the phone with virtual control buttons. The Fingerprint scanner is moved to the back what seems to be the new trend now. I am glad that HMD also inserted new dual color body which looks great on Nokia 6 (2018). The body of the device will be made out of aluminum covered with 6 layers. For the first time we will see combination of aluminum base different layers covered with ceramic or glass at the back and durable Gorilla glass at front.
The biggest tech improvement that Nokia 7 brings is the dual camera setup that will be using 12 MP and 13 MP camera with the ability of 2X optical zooming. Front facing camera will be 16MP one, with f/2.0 apperture, and will have Nokia portrait mode together with bokeh capability. Both front and dual cameras will have ZEISS optics. Additionally, Nokia 7 Plus will finally bring long waited Pro mode! within the camera application. Another new thing is the Tetracell technology that combines 4 pixels into one when picture is being processed. This technology is something that Samsung is using, so there is a possibility that the camera sensor is made by Samsung. It also resembles much to former PureView that Nokia pushed with the great Nokia 808.
Nokia 7 Plus will be using latest Snapdragon 660 processor that will ensure impeccable performances of the device and lower power consumption.
Here are some specs of the Nokia 7 Plus:
Screen: 6 inch, 18:9 ratio, Full HD +
Processor: Snapdragon 660, Adreno 512 GP

Regarding the photos released, I assume that this phone will be released just for Chinese market. HMD’s Alberto Matrone told us in an Interview that HMD isn’t planing on bringing Nokia 7 to the global market, but there is always possibility that something changed. I am more prone to thinking that Nokia 8 Sirocco, which is intended for global market, will bring to the world better hardware (or a bit recycled Snapdragon 835) and similar or better software options. There is always a question wether we will see Nokia 9, or is it been replaced by Nokia 10 and saved for and event later this year… Let us for now just think about how good Nokia 7 Plus is, and about that Pro mode in the Camera app.
