Following the late-August debut of the Virat V1 Pro, Lava is once again targeting the budget 5G market with the launch of the Shark 2 Pro. However, prospective buyers might experience a sense of déjà vu: the new handset appears to be a direct hardware clone of its predecessor, arriving with a slightly higher price tag.
Display and Design
The Shark 2 Pro is built around a 6.75-inch IPS LCD panel with a 720p+ resolution (720 x 1,600 pixels). While the resolution is standard for the entry-level tier, it compensates with a fluid 120Hz refresh rate and a peak High Brightness Mode (HBM) of 550 nits. The chassis measures 8.7mm thick, weighs 207 grams, and offers a respectable IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. Biometric security is handled by face unlock capabilities and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which Lava claims can unlock the device in just 280 milliseconds.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the 6nm Unisoc T8200 chipset—the exact same 5G silicon found in the Lava 2. This octa-core processor features two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.1GHz, all paired with a Mali-G57 MP2 GPU.
Lava is offering the device in a single memory configuration featuring 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users needing more space can utilize the hybrid dual-SIM tray to add a microSD card of up to 1TB, provided they are willing to forfeit the second SIM card slot. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and a classic 3.5mm headphone jack.
Cameras and Battery Endurance
For photography, the rear panel houses a 50-megapixel “AI camera.” Despite a camera island design that gives the illusion of a multi-lens setup, the phone features just a single functional wide sensor. An 8-megapixel selfie camera sits neatly inside a front-facing display notch. Both the front and rear cameras max out at 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second.
Endurance is one of the phone’s strongest selling points, backed by a massive 6,000mAh Li-Po battery. Lava promises an eventual update to Android 17—which will serve as its first and final major OS upgrade—alongside two years of security patches. The company bills the user interface as “bloat-free,” though it does come pre-loaded with Lava’s proprietary Vayu AI assistant.
