New Nokia feature phones and Barbie phone certified in China

Back in July 2024, HMD made a historic announcement by extending its rebranding strategy to feature phones and launching its first HMD-branded feature phone — the Nokia 110 4G. For a brief period, both Nokia and HMD 105 were visible on HMD’s website, but this oversight was later corrected.
However, it seems that HMD is planning to launch the Nokia 110 4G in specific markets, such as China. The Chinese telecommunications agency recently released certification documents for the Nokia TA-1674 feature phone, which is clearly branded with the Nokia logo. This phone was certified on September 13th, following the certification of the TA-1673 (most likely the Nokia 105 4G) two months prior.

Interestingly, the so-called “Barbie phone” was also certified, making it the first HMD-branded phone to be available in the Chinese market. It remains to be seen how well this partner collaboration phone sold over JD will be received there, but it’s certainly an interesting approach from HMD.
