Poco X8 Power Arrives in India: A Battery Heavyweight with 6 Years of Updates

Smartphone battery anxiety may soon become a relic of the past for Indian consumers. Poco has officially expanded its X8 lineup with the introduction of the Poco X8 Power—a device explicitly engineered for heavy users who despise being tethered to a wall outlet.
By prioritizing sheer stamina and rugged durability, the newly unveiled smartphone aims to carve out a distinct niche in the highly competitive mid-range market.
The 10,000mAh Silicon-Carbon Milestone
The defining feature of the Poco X8 Power is its staggering 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. Representing one of the largest power cells ever integrated into a mainstream smartphone, it is designed to deliver multi-day usage on a single charge.
To ensure users aren’t left waiting hours for a refill, Poco has equipped the device with 100W HyperCharge technology. Additionally, the phone can act as a high-speed power bank, offering up to 27W of wired reverse charging to top up accessories or other handsets.
Naturally, this massive battery capacity comes with a physical compromise. The X8 Power weighs in at a hefty 229 grams and measures 8.65mm thick. For context, its predecessor, the Poco X7, featured a standard 5,500mAh battery while weighing just 190 grams at 8.4mm thick.
Display and Extreme Durability
Despite its utilitarian focus on battery life, the Poco X8 Power does not cut corners on multimedia capabilities. The front of the device is dominated by a 6.83-inch flat 1.5K AMOLED display. With a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ support, and a blinding peak brightness of 3,500 nits, the panel is built for premium media consumption. Gamers will also appreciate the 3,200Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate available in Game Turbo mode.
Poco has also heavily fortified the device against the elements. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and features Wet Touch 2.0 technology for reliable use in the rain. Furthermore, the phone boasts an exhaustive suite of ingress protection ratings—IP66, IP68, IP69, and the industrial-grade IP69K—making it virtually impervious to dust and high-pressure water jets.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. Buyers can configure the device with up to 12GB of fast LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options max out at 256GB; however, it is worth noting that the base 128GB models utilize older UFS 2.2 storage, while higher-tier configurations benefit from the significantly faster UFS 4.1 standard.
On the software front, the X8 Power ships with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. In a strong commitment to longevity, Poco is promising four major Android operating system upgrades and six years of security patches.
