Mivi One 5G India Launch: Android 16, Dual Cameras, and More

Homegrown consumer electronics brand Mivi is officially making its highly anticipated leap into the smartphone market. The company has confirmed that its debut handset, the Mivi One 5G, will launch in India on September 24, marking a major milestone for the audio and wearables manufacturer.

Ahead of the official unveiling, Mivi has shared a sneak peek of the device’s design. The Mivi One 5G sports a modern, flat back panel featuring a vertically aligned dual-camera island. A flash sits neatly to the right of the lenses, while the top edge of the frame houses what appears to be a secondary microphone.

Snapdragon Power and Android 16

While Mivi is keeping exact pricing details under wraps, the brand boasts that the One 5G will be the only smartphone in its target price bracket to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Although the company stopped short of naming the specific chipset, recent Geekbench listings have offered a solid clue. The device appeared on the benchmarking platform under the identifier SM4450—a part number that corresponds to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 system-on-chip (SoC).

The leaked benchmark results also indicate that the Mivi One 5G is built to deliver a modern software experience right out of the box.

A “Made in India” Milestone

For Mivi, the transition into the smartphone space represents the next phase of a long-term strategy centered around domestic manufacturing and design.

Viswanadh Kandula, Co-Founder of Mivi, emphasized the brand’s commitment to building comprehensive hardware infrastructure within the country. “The first decade of Mivi was about proving that an Indian company could build, design, and manufacture consumer technology for discerning Indian consumers. Smartphones are the natural next steps in that journey,” Kandula stated.

He further noted that the company is aiming to establish end-to-end, in-house capabilities for smartphone production. “This is the kind of ambition we enter any space with, and we are excited to start the journey of building ground-up capabilities in the country,” Kandula added. “Mivi One is not just our first smartphone; it is the first expression of our ambition to build a global consumer technology company from India.”
