WhatsApp is introducing message threads
|WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will group replies to specific messages within a conversation into a thread, making it easier for users to follow. Instead of scrolling through chats to see individual replies scattered around, the new feature will create a dedicated view that shows each quoted message linked to the original message.
That initial message is the one that started the thread. The best example of how threads help navigate through a bunch of messages is the conversation view in Gmail and many other email clients.
The threads feature was spotted in the Android beta 2.25.7.7 version of WhatsApp. The feature is expected to be available for individuals, groups, communities, and channels in the coming weeks.
This is a pretty big and useful change for anyone who uses WhatsApp to organize and make plans with large groups of people, or often uses the search function to retrieve older message replies.
