HMD will try its luck again with HMD FirstClass app
|HMD Global’s HMD First Class app has appeared on the Play Store, offering an eSIM-based roaming service with global coverage and local/regional data packages. It follows the discontinued HMD Connect service (2020–2022) and is powered by Gigs Wireless LLC. While not officially announced, it may launch at MWC 2025 on March 2.
I checked HMD’s pricing, and it is similar to Revolut’s. However, Revolut offers single-country eSIM plans, which are slightly cheaper.
I used Revolut’s eSIM service while traveling in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the initial setup didn’t work well. After some Googling, it worked perfectly. I haven’t tested HMD First Class, but I’d suggest the team offer single-country options instead of a 45-country Europe bundle, as competitors provide cheaper alternatives.
You can test the app by downloading it from Google Play store.
