Nokia signs a video technology licensing deal with Samsung

Nokia has announced a multi-year patent license agreement with Samsung, enabling the use of Nokia’s video technologies in Samsung’s televisions. Under this agreement, Samsung will pay royalties to Nokia.

This new deal is separate from the existing 5G patent license agreement between the two companies. While the financial terms remain confidential, Arvin Patel, Nokia’s Chief Licensing Officer for New Segments, highlighted the agreement as further validation of Nokia’s leadership in video and multimedia technologies.

Nokia has a strong legacy in video innovation, with nearly 5,000 inventions in multimedia over the past 25 years and continued significant investments in research and development, amounting to over €150 billion since 2000.

I miss writing about Nokia devices and products that consumers are able to use and enjoy daily. Nokia could at least make this gecko toy… But, this post can be related to consumer stuff too 🙂
